Play Pause On Mac Not Working Spotify

Use voice commands to control music and podcasts with Amazon Alexa!

I am trying to use this button to quickly play and pause from Spotify. Every other key in the top row (volume, backlight, etc.) work. I've tried using the Fn button and I've also tried using it in various other applications to see if it is just a problem with Spotify. Click Connect to a device in the bottom-right. Select the device you'd like to play on. Note: If you pause for more than 10 minutes you may need to reconnect. Mobile and tablet. Open Spotify and play something. Tap at the bottom of the screen. Tap the device you want to play to. My pause and play function my Apple Remote stopped working about 2 weeks ago - appears it upgraded to tvOS 11.3 and thats about when they stopped functioning. I can hit the clic pad to stop/start, but play/pause button does not work. Same issue with Remote App, if it even connects to it (says not found or offline, even when I’m streaming movies). 2018-02-15 07:30 AM. I have recently updated my Mac to High Sierra and found that my play/pause, forward and back play buttons wont work for spotify. To fix the problem click on Spotify in the menu bar, then services then system preferences. Once opened go to keyboard on the left hand side and click 'Restore Defaults' in the bottom right hand corner.

Get started

Download the Alexa app, open it, and link your Spotify account with these steps:

  1. Tap the menu in the top-left.
  2. Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
  3. Select Spotify, then Link account to Alexa.
  4. Enter your Spotify account details.

Set Spotify as your default service for music and podcasts so you don’t need to specify “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands to play music:

The Rewind, Play/Pause, and Skip buttons (F7, F8, F9) on my Macbook Pro 13in. Have stopped working. I read on other forums that they would work with a long delay in between pressing it and it actually working, but they have stopped working altogether for me. If you press the Fn Key and CapsLock at the same time, it toggles the top row between the two modes. Some people want the top row to be F1-F12 by default; some people want it the other way. Try Fn + CapLock and see which you have. All the other keys still work, it's just play/pause with Spotify.

  1. Tap the menu in the top-left.
  2. Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
  3. Tap Choose default music services.
Note: To set Spotify as your default podcast service, tap Choose default podcast service.
  4. Select Spotify and tap DONE.

Note: You still need to say “on Spotify” at the end of commands to play podcasts.

Now just ask Alexa to play something! E.g. 'Alexa, play Discover Weekly'. Check out the Amazon help site for supported languages.
